July 2007

Welcome to July's update of Declinegothica.  As well as a hoard of images from my "Highway Women", "Shadowplay" and "Black Coven" shoots, this month I have two behind the scenes videos directed by my friend Jaded Jazz.  You can find both of them on my Youtube and Myspace accounts.  There only about five minutes long but it gives a insight into what a Declinegothica shoot is about.

 As anyone who's worked with me will tell you, the time gap between taking initial photographs and the posting of the finished images can be anything up to two months. What myself and Sancia Lux did on May 12th with our "Kidnapped" shoot, was to take the photos, do the post production and publish the images on the net in just a few hours.  Although the whole project was for my Live Journal community Goth Pin Up, I've included one of the images on this months update that you can find in Gallery Three.  It's not something I'd want to do every day but as a project, it was a challenge.

May's planned "All Male" shoot didn't quite the way we hoped, with sadly several of the models having to cancel and be replaced.  The male team eventually comprised of Hull's Thamiel Kain, Exeter's Mendees, from Warickshire's, Phoenix.  They were joined on the day by the ladies; Sancia Lux, Satanic Angel and new model Violet Raven.   We still carried on with our intended Vampire theme and so we renamed the shoot "The Black Coven".  I'll be sharing lots of images from this day in Declinegothica's September update but until then  you can find "The Feeding" in Gallery Two.

On June 10th I got together with fellow Midland's Photographer Dave Fish for a "Goth Pin up" collaboration.  We enlisted the talents of four of the loveliest models we could find and spent an afternoon experimenting with lighting.  It was really interesting to see how another photographer works and I hope everyone got something from the day.  You can see Dave's portrait of myself on my About me page.
